pid: take a reference when initializing `cad_pid`

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pid: take a reference when initializing `cad_pid` During boot, kernel_init_freeable() initializes `cad_pid` to the init task's struct pid. Later on, we may change `cad_pid` via a sysctl, and when this happens proc_do_cad_pid() will increment the refcount on the new pid via get_pid(), and will decrement the refcount on the old pid via put_pid(). As we never called get_pid() when we initialized `cad_pid`, we decrement a reference we never incremented, can therefore free the init task's struct pid early. As there can be dangling references to the struct pid, we can later en

ocfs2: fix data corruption by fallocate

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix data corruption by fallocate When fallocate punches holes out of inode size, if original isize is in the middle of last cluster, then the part from isize to the end of the cluster will be zeroed with buffer write, at that time isize is not yet updated to match the new size, if writeback is kicked in, it will invoke ocfs2_writepage()->block_write_full_page() where the pages out of inode size will be dropped. That will cause file corruption. Fix this by zero out eof blocks when extending the inode size. Running the following command with qemu-image 4.2.1 can get

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: inet: fully convert sk->sk_rx_dst to RCU rules syzbot reported various issues around early demux, one being included in this changelog [1] sk->sk_rx_dst is using RCU protection without clearly documenting it. And following sequences in tcp_v4_do_rcv()/tcp_v6_do_rcv() are not following standard RCU rules. [a] dst_release(dst); [b] sk->sk_rx_dst = NULL; They look wrong because a delete operation of RCU protected pointer is supposed to clear the pointer before the call_rcu()/synchronize_rcu() guarding actual memory freeing. phonet/pep: refuse to enable an unbound pipe

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: phonet/pep: refuse to enable an unbound pipe This ioctl() implicitly assumed that the socket was already bound to a valid local socket name, i.e. Phonet object. If the socket was not bound, two separate problems would occur: 1) We'd send an pipe enablement request with an invalid source object. 2) Later socket calls could BUG on the socket unexpectedly being connected yet not bound to a valid object.

net:emac/emac-mac: Fix a use after free in emac_mac_tx_buf_send

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net:emac/emac-mac: Fix a use after free in emac_mac_tx_buf_send In emac_mac_tx_buf_send, it calls emac_tx_fill_tpd(..,skb,..). If some error happens in emac_tx_fill_tpd(), the skb will be freed via dev_kfree_skb(skb) in error branch of emac_tx_fill_tpd(). But the freed skb is still used via skb->len by netdev_sent_queue(,skb->len). As i observed that emac_tx_fill_tpd() haven't modified the value of skb->len, thus my patch assigns skb->len to 'len' before the possible free and use 'len' instead of skb->len later.

ARM: 9064/1: hw_breakpoint: Do not directly check the event's overflow_handler hook

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ARM: 9064/1: hw_breakpoint: Do not directly check the event's overflow_handler hook The commit 1879445dfa7b ("perf/core: Set event's default ::overflow_handler()") set a default event->overflow_handler in perf_event_alloc(), and replace the check event->overflow_handler with is_default_overflow_handler(), but one is missing.
