In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: asihpi: Fix potential OOB array access ASIHPI driver stores some values in the static array upon a response from the driver, and its index depends on the firmware. We shouldn't trust it blindly. This patch adds a sanity check of the array index to fit in the array size.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix i_data_sem unlock order in ext4_ind_migrate() Fuzzing reports a possible deadlock in jbd2_log_wait_commit. This issue is triggered when an EXT4_IOC_MIGRATE ioctl is set to require synchronous updates because the file descriptor is opened with O_SYNC. This can lead to the jbd2_journal_stop() function calling jbd2_might_wait_for_commit(), potentially causing a deadlock if the EXT4_IOC_MIGRATE call races with a write(2) system call. This problem only arises when CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING is enabled. In this case, the jbd2_might_wait_for_commit macro locks jbd2_handle in

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: lantiq_etop: fix memory disclosure When applying padding, the buffer is not zeroed, which results in memory disclosure. The mentioned data is observed on the wire. This patch uses skb_put_padto() to pad Ethernet frames properly. The mentioned function zeroes the expanded buffer. In case the packet cannot be padded it is silently dropped. Statistics are also not incremented. This driver does not support statistics in the old 32-bit format or the new 64-bit format. These will be added in the future. In its current form, the patch should be easily backported to
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdkfd: amdkfd_free_gtt_mem clear the correct pointer Pass pointer reference to amdgpu_bo_unref to clear the correct pointer, otherwise amdgpu_bo_unref clear the local variable, the original pointer not set to NULL, this could cause use-after-free bug.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: aoe: fix the potential use-after-free problem in more places For fixing CVE-2023-6270, f98364e92662 ("aoe: fix the potential use-after-free problem in aoecmd_cfg_pkts") makes tx() calling dev_put() instead of doing in aoecmd_cfg_pkts(). It avoids that the tx() runs into use-after-free. Then Nicolai Stange found more places in aoe have potential use-after-free problem with tx(). e.g. revalidate(), aoecmd_ata_rw(), resend(), probe() and aoecmd_cfg_rsp(). Those functions also use aoenet_xmit() to push packet to tx queue. So they should also use dev_hold() to increase the refc
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: uprobes: fix kernel info leak via "[uprobes]" vma xol_add_vma() maps the uninitialized page allocated by __create_xol_area() into userspace. On some architectures (x86) this memory is readable even without VM_READ, VM_EXEC results in the same pgprot_t as VM_EXEC|VM_READ, although this doesn't really matter, debugger can read this memory anyway.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: cancel dqi_sync_work before freeing oinfo ocfs2_global_read_info() will initialize and schedule dqi_sync_work at the end, if error occurs after successfully reading global quota, it will trigger the following warning with CONFIG_DEBUG_OBJECTS_* enabled: ODEBUG: free active (active state 0) object: 00000000d8b0ce28 object type: timer_list hint: qsync_work_fn+0x0/0x16c This reports that there is an active delayed work when freeing oinfo in error handling, so cancel dqi_sync_work first. BTW, return status instead of -1 when .read_file_info fails.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: remove unreasonable unlock in ocfs2_read_blocks Patch series "Misc fixes for ocfs2_read_blocks", v5. This series contains 2 fixes for ocfs2_read_blocks(). The first patch fix the issue reported by syzbot, which detects bad unlock balance in ocfs2_read_blocks(). The second patch fixes an issue reported by Heming Zhao when reviewing above fix. This patch (of 2): There was a lock release before exiting, so remove the unreasonable unlock.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: bcm2835: Fix timeout during suspend mode During noirq suspend phase the Raspberry Pi power driver suffer of firmware property timeouts. The reason is that the IRQ of the underlying BCM2835 mailbox is disabled and rpi_firmware_property_list() will always run into a timeout [1]. Since the VideoCore side isn't consider as a wakeup source, set the IRQF_NO_SUSPEND flag for the mailbox IRQ in order to keep it enabled during suspend-resume cycle. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPICA: check null return of ACPI_ALLOCATE_ZEROED() in acpi_db_convert_to_package() ACPICA commit 4d4547cf13cca820ff7e0f859ba83e1a610b9fd0 ACPI_ALLOCATE_ZEROED() may fail, elements might be NULL and will cause NULL pointer dereference later. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jbd2: stop waiting for space when jbd2_cleanup_journal_tail() returns error In __jbd2_log_wait_for_space(), we might call jbd2_cleanup_journal_tail() to recover some journal space. But if an error occurs while executing jbd2_cleanup_journal_tail() (e.g., an EIO), we don't stop waiting for free space right away, we try other branches, and if j_committing_transaction is NULL (i.e., the tid is 0), we will get the following complain: ============================================ JBD2: I/O error when updating journal superblock for sdd-8. __jbd2_log_wait_for_space: needed 256 bl
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: reserve space for inline xattr before attaching reflink tree One of our customers reported a crash and a corrupted ocfs2 filesystem. The crash was due to the detection of corruption. Upon troubleshooting, the fsck -fn output showed the below corruption [EXTENT_LIST_FREE] Extent list in owner 33080590 claims 230 as the next free chain record, but fsck believes the largest valid value is 227. Clamp the next record value? n The stat output from the debugfs.ocfs2 showed the following corruption where the "Next Free Rec:" had overshot the "Count:" in the root metadat
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix null-ptr-deref when journal load failed. During the mounting process, if journal_reset() fails because of too short journal, then lead to jbd2_journal_load() fails with NULL j_sb_buffer. Subsequently, ocfs2_journal_shutdown() calls jbd2_journal_flush()->jbd2_cleanup_journal_tail()-> __jbd2_update_log_tail()->jbd2_journal_update_sb_log_tail() ->lock_buffer(journal->j_sb_buffer), resulting in a null-pointer dereference error. To resolve this issue, we should check the JBD2_LOADED flag to ensure the journal was properly loaded. Additionally, use journal instead o
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: prevent nf_skb_duplicated corruption syzbot found that nf_dup_ipv4() or nf_dup_ipv6() could write per-cpu variable nf_skb_duplicated in an unsafe way [1]. Disabling preemption as hinted by the splat is not enough, we have to disable soft interrupts as well.
