In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: igb: Fix igb_down hung on surprise removal In a setup where a Thunderbolt hub connects to Ethernet and a display through USB Type-C, users may experience a hung task timeout when they remove the cable between the PC and the Thunderbolt hub. This is because the igb_down function is called multiple times when the Thunderbolt hub is unplugged. For example, the igb_io_error_detected triggers the first call, and the igb_remove triggers the second call. The second call to igb_down will block at napi_synchronize. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: add NULL check in xfrm_update_ae_params Normally, x->replay_esn and x->preplay_esn should be allocated at xfrm_alloc_replay_state_esn(...) in xfrm_state_construct(...), hence the xfrm_update_ae_params(...) is okay to update them. However, the current implementation of xfrm_new_ae(...) allows a malicious user to directly dereference a NULL pointer and crash the kernel like below. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/sti: Fix return type of sti_{dvo,hda,hdmi}_connector_mode_valid() With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmfmac: Fix potential stack-out-of-bounds in brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds() This patch fixes a stack-out-of-bounds read in brcmfmac that occurs when 'buf' that is not null-terminated is passed as an argument of strsep() in brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds(). This buffer is filled with a firmware version string by memcpy() in brcmf_fil_iovar_data_get(). The patch ensures buf is null-terminated. Found by a modified version of syzkaller. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: igb: Do not free q_vector unless new one was allocated Avoid potential use-after-free condition under memory pressure. If the kzalloc() fails, q_vector will be freed but left in the original adapter->q_vector[v_idx] array position.

mmc: vub300: fix return value check of mmc_add_host()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: vub300: fix return value check of mmc_add_host() mmc_add_host() may return error, if we ignore its return value, the memory that allocated in mmc_alloc_host() will be leaked and it will lead a kernel crash because of deleting not added device in the remove path. So fix this by checking the return value and goto error path which will call mmc_free_host(), besides, the timer added before mmc_add_host() needs be del. And this patch fixes another missing call mmc_free_host() if usb_control_msg() fails.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl: fix possible null-ptr-deref in cxl_pci_init_afu|adapter() If device_register() fails in cxl_pci_afu|adapter(), the device is not added, device_unregister() can not be called in the error path, otherwise it will cause a null-ptr-deref because of removing not added device. As comment of device_register() says, it should use put_device() to give up the reference in the error path. So split device_unregister() into device_del() and put_device(), then goes to put dev when register fails.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: abort transaction on unexpected eb generation at btrfs_copy_root() If we find an unexpected generation for the extent buffer we are cloning at btrfs_copy_root(), we just WARN_ON() and don't error out and abort the transaction, meaning we allow to persist metadata with an unexpected generation. Instead of warning only, abort the transaction and return -EUCLEAN.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ctnetlink: remove refcounting in expectation dumpers Same pattern as previous patch: do not keep the expectation object alive via refcount, only store a cookie value and then use that as the skip hint for dump resumption. AFAICS this has the same issue as the one resolved in the conntrack dumper, when we do if (!refcount_inc_not_zero(&exp->use)) to increment the refcount, there is a chance that exp == last, which causes a double-increment of the refcount and subsequent memory leak.
